Rose is a lawyer and secondary teacher who has been working to improve teaching standards at a public school in the western suburbs. She has lived in the area for seven years. As an educator and mother, Rose sees the quality of childcare and kindergartens as a top priority. She authored the online resources for teachers for the junior version of The Weather Makers (Text Publishing), and is keen to ensure the Council takes a proactive approach on Climate Change. |
The attractive diversity of the Moonee Valley area, and its proximity to Melbourne's CBD, also provide challenges for local government. Rose is passionate about strengthening cross-cultural relationships, and ensuring that parks, bike paths and a cohesive planning scheme are provided.
She is excited about working with the current Mayor of Moonee Valley, Greens Cr Ben Opie.
Rose was elected with a primary vote of 18.9%, and 52% after preferences.
