Australian Greens Victoria announce Lead Senate Candidate

Dr Richard Di Natale has been selected as the Victorian Greens' lead Senate candidate for the upcoming Federal election.

Richard has worked as a general practitioner in remote indigenous and rural farming communities, and in urban community health centres. He is now an international health and development specialist, working closely with the international aid sector on HIV prevention in Asia.

“Victorian electors are tired of seeing their representatives chase polling numbers and short term fixes. Today’s challenges require leadership, not politics."

“Doing what’s right is not often easy; Victoria’s dependence on coal is one such case. No matter how hard it may seem now, we must be planning for a coal-free future...Victoria has the manufacturing, raw materials and knowledge to lead the world in the production of renewable and low emission energy, creating tens of thousands of new jobs for Victorians and new opportunities for Victorian business.”

“I am excited about the challenge of restoring transparency and accountability to our parliament. We must rescue the Senate, and restore the House of Review to one which all voices are heard and all decisions given the scrutiny our democracy demands”, Dr Di Natale said.
