No time for token gestures on Global Warming say the Greens

After 30,000 people marched through Melbourne's streets (Saturday November 4) protesting against the lack of action on climate change, the Greens are calling on the Bracks Government to commit to an end to brown coal use in Victoria.

"We've got the nation's worst greenhouse gas industry," said Louis Delacretaz, the Greens Energy spokesperson. "The first step is to timetable the closure of Hazelwood, the nation's dirtiest power plant. And we must invest more heavily in renewable energy sources like wind and solar power."
