Greens Senator Bob Brown has called on the Australian government to use maximum pressure to convert Israel's 48-hour suspension of bombing into a permanent ceasefire. "The world has been appalled by the carnage in Qana, the bombing of ambulances and massive loss of civilian life and infrastructure. The ceasefire should be continued until peacekeeping forces are in place," Senator Brown said.
