The 2006 Victorian State Election: Greens Get Active

The state election is not so far away and the Victorian Greens have been busy selecting candidates.

Upper House Candidates on tram

For the first time, we know the exact date of the state election well in advance, while changes to the Upper House will result in five parliamentarians being elected in each region using the proportional representation method of voting. This creates an opportunity for the Greens to gain seats in the Victorian parliament for the first time - and break the stranglehold the old parties have on Victorian politics.

A number of Green candidates for Upper House regions have been selected already. Find out who you can vote for on the Upper House Candidates' page.
