The Greens plan to overhaul the Freedom of Information laws

The State Government needs to catch up with the modern world and make Victoria's Freedom of Information (FOI) laws work.

Freedom of Information

That was the message from Governance and Accountability spokesperson, Greg Barber, when he released the Greens FOI statement (Thursday, September 28). Greg outlined a five point plan to produce more open and transparent government, a fairer public sector tender environment, less litigation and better quality advice to Government. "More transparency will increase trust in the State Government and maybe even encourage less cynicism about politics and politicians," said Greg Barber. "This will make for much healthier politics in Victoria."
