This weekend aims to improve the gender balance among our candidates and some Greens leadership positions, and look at ways to make the Victorian Greens more inclusive for women.

One of the major goals for the weekend is to offer a point of entry to the party for women who have joined and want to get more involved but haven't found a way to do it.

Note that attendance can be for one or both days, and there is overnight accommodation on offer. Subsidies are available for any women who would be unable to attend otherwise.

What to Bring:
  • Extra-warm bedding and associated linen. There are plenty of bunks with mattresses, but no blankets or sheets. Sleeping bags would probably work best, but if you prefer sheets and blankets bring those. Only one of the cabins (with 6-8 beds) is heated, so whatever you bring needs to be warm.
  • Torches - its a bit of a walk in the dark between the buildings. Also a powerful owl apparently nests on the site, along with other nocturnal native wildlife, so you may want to go looking for them.
  • Clothing, towel, toiletries, personal items.
  • Any alcohol you'd like to consume during the weekend. There will be a small amount of wine donated, but if you want more than a glass you'd better bring your own.

Getting There:
The venue is Camp Eureka, Tarrango Rd, Yarra Junction. It's marked on the Melways, but the directions are pretty simple: Take the Warburton Highway until you've just passed through Yarra Junction and Tarrango Rd is on the right (it's easy to miss coming from the city, much easier to spot coming back the other way). The camp is about 800m up the road, after the second bend in the road. We will try and organise for there to be Greens triangles at the relevant turns.

Most of those attending have organised their own car pooling, but there are a few lifts still offered, so if you need one, call Stephen on 0438 66 77 87.
