All over the world old growth forests are under threat and nowhere more so than in Tasmania. Here, logging for wood pulp and chip threatens a wide variety of habitats and animals, including Australia's largest bird of prey, the Tasmanian Wedge-Tailed Eagle. The ancient eucalypt forest is habitat for eagles, Tasmanian Devils and the basis of a diverse ecosystem, but it also represents thousands of tonnes of fine quality timber, woodchip and profitable pulp.
