Nam Bui, Western Metropolitan Region

Greens Upper House Candidate for the Western Metropolitan Region in the 2006 Victorian Election

Nam BuiNam Bui came to Australia from Vietnam as a law student, fleeing to a country of freedom.

Nam has served Victorians in the West for over fifteen years; including five in employment, eight in public housing, six in a leadership role in education and two years as a General Secretary for the Vietnamese University Students Association of Victoria.

Having had many great opportunities to work with Victorians on such issues as family and welfare concerns, education, public housing and employment, Nam Bui believes that he can understand and relate to the needs of the average Victorian. Nam is a leading community activist who seeks opportunities to work with others directly.

"I have heard many complaints from local residents who are not happy with their government representatives in local, state and federal government due to political games.

"I am passionate about representing the community’s changing values with honesty and will do my part to benefit the community."

Nam Bui believes that electing Greens representatives to the Victorian parliament can benefit all Victorians because the Greens have committed to a long-term plan to protect the environment. They also have great goals in improving the public health, education, transport, housing and employment systems.

"I urge all Victorians to directly and strongly support the Greens Candidates in the forthcoming 2006 State Election for a new voice and fair Victorian government that truly represents its people."
