The Australian Greens Victoria is a registered political party. As such, it is not bound by the Privacy Act.

However, the Australian Greens complies with the broad principles prescribed by the Privacy Act.

Specifically, the Australian Greens Victoria does not use personal information other than for its principle purposes, which are:

• to advance the Charter and Policies of the Australian Greens and the Australian Greens Victoria, and
• to secure the election of representatives of the Party in legislatures, local government and other public offices.

The Australian Greens Victoria collects personal information from members, including name, address, occupation, date of birth and other contact details. The Australian Greens Victoria also collects information about electors for its principle purposes, but does so only in accordance with the law. Australian Greens will not allow the use of any information collected on any person for any commercial purpose.

The Australian Greens will not provide personal information or data on members or others to those outside the Party, other than to the Australian Greens or a contractor for the Australian Greens or the Australian Greens Victoria, without the consent of Party members. The exceptions to this are Party members who are office bearers, public office-holders or others who act as a point of contact for the media, other community organisations or potential members, and in these cases only to the extent that the provision of such information is necessary for the principle purposes of the Greens.

In relation to the use of this website by members or members of the public, the Australian Greens will not attempt to identify users or their browsing activities.
